Taiwan's lyricist Vincent Fang has recently been invited by Guangzhou Jinan University, in the Jinan University to conduct an "artistic creation in the Life" lecture. Vincent Fang elaborated his knowledge of words and poetry, he also clarified that he was not the inventor of "China Style".
"Everyone knows that I have written a lot of 'Chinese Style' and Classical Charm of works. As a matter of fact, it's not me who invented Chinese Style". Vincent Fang said that Chinese Style is just a creative concept and direction; it's not a kind of very precision genre. The only different with the predecessors is that he is more systematic. "From the first album to the tenth album, we have always had Chinese Style songs."
When we talk about Vincent Fang, it's not far from Jay Chou. There was a student asked: "As Jay Chou's song writer, is it Jay Chou who bring you up or it's you who bring Jay Chou up?"
Vincent Fang has already prepared to answer such a question like this before, he answered: "This is a good question, of course it's Jay Chou who bring me up. If melody is the physical of someone, then the lyrics is the temperament. It's just like a model, when the priori conditions are goods, then it must be acquired with the temperament to be good."
方文山:是周杰伦造就了我
台湾地区的作词人方文山最近应广州暨南大学之邀，在暨南大学做了一场《艺术创作于人生》的讲座。方文山除了阐述他对词与诗的理解，还向大家澄清，他并不
是"中国风"的发明者。
"大家都知道我写了很多'中国风'或有古典韵味的作品。'中国风'其实不是我发明的。"方文山解释说，"中国风"只是一个创作的概念和方向，它不是很精准
的一种曲风。与前人的差别在于，他只是比较有系统、持之以恒地将这种风格维系下来。"我们从第一张专辑到第十张都有一定比例的'中国风'歌曲，最终大家会
聚焦、会讨论，所以获得的关注就比别人大。"
谈到方文山便不能不提周杰伦。现场有学生问："作为周杰伦的'御用词人'，到底是周杰伦造就了您，还是您造就了周杰伦？"
方文山显然对这个问题早有准备："这个问题很好回答，当然是周杰伦造就了我。如果说旋律是一个人的体格，歌词就是那个人后天的气质。好比一个模特，先天的
条件好的话，后天的气质加上去才有意义。"
